Logius, the Dutch digital government service, has been working since December 2019 on an OpenID Connect (OIDC) profile for the Dutch government: NL GOV OIDC.
OpenID Connect is a new, innovative method to determine the identity of a user, for example of a software application or an online service. The basic principle is that as little user information as possible is shared so that privacy and information security are maximally guaranteed.
On 10 and 11 February Logius is organizing a hackathon to test the first concept validated by experts in practice.
Visma Connect (Netherlands) and sister company Visma Cloud Identity & Access Management from Norway are participating as one team in this hackathon. “We are looking forward to it”, says Ruud de Jong, solution architect at Visma Connect. “It is a fantastic opportunity to test the profile and in this way we also get to know the products of our Norwegian colleagues better”.
Visma Cloud Identity & Access Management already planned to enter the Dutch market with Visma Connect IdP. Participation in this hackathon accelerates these plans. Safe and reliable identities are the basis for the digital society and digital ecosystems for the exchange of information. Visma Connect is involved in various initiatives in this area such as OpenID Connect. Last year, the Self-Sovereign Identity concept from Visma Connect was the big winner of Odyssey Momentum.
