On 5, 6, 7 and 8 April 2018, the Suikerunie site was the epicenter of modern technology. The old industrial site was the location of the largest and most challenging hackathon event in Europe: the Blockchaingers Hackathon 2018.
That's why our team joined the blockchain hackathon in Groningen as well. During the event, the Visma Connect team build a portal that can be accessed by using the blockchain. In this case, blockchain is used as a means of identification. Teamlead Rogier Morsink: “I think we are changing society." "Because we are making things easier for many organisations in the Netherlands.”
Blockchain Hackathon
Many experts still believe that blockchain will be the biggest technology revolution since the internet. Therefore, during the event, dozens of teams launched prototypes for new, groundbreaking applications. These applications will make society and the economy at large a lot smarter. Our CEO Coen Egberink, about the hackaton: “We foresee huge, real solutions for today’s problems: with people, with transactions, with faith in eachtother, that’s the reason that we want to be here.”
