EscuLine joins SureSync: greater insight and control over healthcare data

SureSync en Esculine

Visma today announces the acquisition of EscuLine, a leading platform for business intelligence (BI), data analysis, and AI in healthcare. EscuLine will become part of SureSync, Visma’s solution for secure, standardized data exchange. With this expansion, SureSync offers healthcare institutions a complete package for standardized data exchange and insights.

Founded in 2017 and based in Capelle aan den IJssel, EscuLine specializes in BI, data analytics, and AI solutions for the healthcare sector. The platform enables healthcare providers to monitor performance in real-time, track care quality, and generate customized reports for compliance. Around 65 healthcare organizations use EscuLine, including eight of the twenty largest elderly care institutions in the Netherlands.

More insights, less pressure

Sander Odijk, Managing Director of SureSync, highlights the importance of data insights for collaboration in healthcare: “Collaboration is essential in healthcare. It often requires large amounts of data, which are typically locked away in a complex landscape of applications. This lack of visibility makes it difficult to improve and streamline care processes. Everything starts with insight. By adding EscuLine to our product offering, we provide better control over data and more time for care. This relieves the pressure on care providers, allowing them to focus on their core task: delivering care.”

Data-driven collaboration

A strong example is the KIK-V program: Improving Key Chain Information. KIK-V helps healthcare organizations share data with other parties safely, efficiently, and meaningfully. Using a common agreement framework with uniform definitions and reference dates, data can be easily reused—for external accountability and internal quality improvement. This reduces the administrative burden and increases data availability.

Within KIK-V, organizations such as ActiZ, IGJ, VWS, NZa, the Dutch Patients Federation, the National Health Care Institute, Dutch health insurers, and regional care offices align information requests better.

Future-proof data insights

Robert van Ginkel, founder and CEO of EscuLine, looks to the future with confidence:
“We’re very excited to become part of the Visma family and, together with SureSync, to make the data exchange and the BI and AI applications we develop for healthcare organizations more widely available. With EscuLine, we offer more than 250 integrations with various data providers and platforms. With SureSync, we provide a full-suite platform—from data insights through dashboards to data exchange with chain partners. By joining Visma and closely collaborating with SureSync, we’re taking a major step toward achieving our mission: making better use of data that is now often collected in fragmented ways within and across healthcare organizations.”

EscuLine will continue to operate under its name, retaining its current team and management. In the coming period, SureSync and EscuLine will work closely together to develop their joint offering further and make it available to even more healthcare organizations in the Netherlands.
