EBPI just joined ALICE (Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe). The vision of ALICE is very similar to our own mission.
We believe digitization throughout international logistics is key to develop the sector in becoming more efficient and sustainable. The solutions we are currently working on reflect our ambition to facilitate easier communications and interoperability in the entire logistics sector.
In close collaboration with Rijkswaterstaat, Customs, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, Logius and the Ministries of Justice & Security, Defense and Infrastructure and Water Management we built Single Window. The Single Window (SW) in the Netherlands is a platform for maritime and air freight information exchange between governments and companies.
SW delivers maritime and air freight reports for cross-border transport for Customs, Border Surveillance and port authorities electronically. These data only need to be sent once; SW ensures that the communications it receives are forwarded to all various relevant government organizations.
The use of one efficient and safe platform for the delivery and receipt of required information leads to a considerable reduction of the administrative burden for companies and governments alike.
We look forward to sharing our knowledge with the other members.
